Profile
Katherine successfully completed her MA in Belfast in 2009 before continuing to further her career in London.
Most recently Katherine has been working as artist assistant to highly acclaimed portrait artist Nicola Green. Here Katherine assisted Green in the production of work for a number of high profile projects. Green created a suite of seven large serigraph prints titled "In Seven Days...". The images are a distillation of her experience of the days she witnessed on the US 2008 Presidential campaign with President Barack Obama. The show has recently been launched at Harvard University, USA and has been acquired by several museums and institutions in the UK and USA (soon to be announced).

Katherine has exhibited her artwork in Belfast, London, France, Dublin, Germany, China and Canada.
Katherine was invited to show her work in the Royal Ulster Academy, after selling her entire series of work from her debut exhibition within a week. In addition, she received a year's bursary from Belfast Print Workshop to continue making work.
Katherine Penney was awarded best commissioning practice for all Ireland from Business to Arts. This work was also included in the Exhibition '10,000 to 50' (10,000 artists applied and 50 were selected) in Dublin's Irish Museum of Modern Art.
Aside from her growing career as an artist, Katherine acquired four years of invaluable experience assisting and curating within the Mullan Gallery Belfast, one of Northern Ireland's more well respected commercial galleries.
Katherine worked as freelance photographer for Channel 4's entertainment programme T4.
